PROTECTION AND DISPERSIBILITY FOR VITAMINS

Oil-based vitamins such as vitamin A or E have special requirements: they are poorly dispersible in water and are extremely light and oxygen sensitive. In these applications, gelatine can play a key role as a multitasking agent. First, finest vitamin dropsĀ  are evenly distributed in an aqueous gelatine solution using the emulsifying properties of gelatine; then, a special spray drying process converts the solution into a free flowing powder. The perfect vehicle for oil-based vitamins, the powder is easily dispersible in hot or cold water and a variety of other solutions. In addition, the gelatine coating protects the vitamin from light or oxygen damage. The powder can be used in hard gelatine capsules, sachets or compressed into an effervescent tablet.
